This movie combines concepts of the movies Footloose, The Greatest Showman and Burlesque. The time period is the late 20's. A turbulant and exciting time in the world of entertianement. Hollywood was moving away from Silent movies to "Talkies". This has created a much stonger hatred and competition between Boradway in New York City and Hollywood.
In addition. The country is fastly spiralling into a great depression. Everyone being dominated by greed and conservative oppression. All of which is being orchestrated by the current ruling aristocracy of the US.
Back in New York City. A man who's inherited the fortune and manufacturing businesses of his family. He hates his life and everything about it. He pines for the reality and rawness of the slums in neighboring burroghs. So that's where he spends most of his time. In Speakeasies watching topless dancers and getting drunk.
One dancer in particular catches his attention. Eventully he discovers this woman is the daughter of one of his employees. And to make this romance even more appealing and dangerous. The man is still married to a woman through an arranged marriage. The man is a manipulative and slightly evil character as the movie begins.
As thier romance blossoms. This courageous dancer brings hope to the man's life. Inspiring him to chase after his own dreams and passions.
Dreams and pasisons of running his own Speakeasie and Burlesque show.
And together they accomplish the dreams they've both been pining for.
Just as is the case with Footloose. This movie primarily follows the dancer and her own life.
This story is part of a series of stories which span from the beginning of the 20th century to the late 1940's. Each movie having some characters in common, yet each story being so very different.
